1. Removed encroachments around the park area in 1st Avenue, Ashok Nagar and placed `NO HAWKING / NO ADVERTISEMENT SIGN BOARDS’ through representation to concerned authorities in October 2007.
2. Introduction of Bus Stops / improvement of Bus services from K.K.Nagar Depot (catering to 14 Corporation Divisions in Chennai) was done by attending the grievances meeting at Metropolitan Transport Corporation and handed over representation to Mr.K.N.Nehru. Honble Minister for Transport, Govt. of Tamil Nadu and the Managing Director MTC, Chennai in December 2007.
3.Thwarted efforts by the anti social elements from taking over 30 grounds in Adayar river bund in Thirunagar / Jafferkhanpet, Chennai represented to Tahsildar, Mambalam/Guindy/ Collector of Chennai and Secretary PWD, Government of Tamil Nadu in January 2008.
4. Conducted Awareness Meeting of the residents of Chennai in Public interest on 20th April 2008 at Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam, Raju Naicken Street, West Mambalam, Chennai -600033 on the failure of Chennai City River Water conservation project and its disastrous effect on Chennai City and Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA).
5. A public interest litigation was filed in the Madras High Court on 13th May 2008 on the failure of CCRCP as detailed below vide Writ Petition No.12282/2008 and the case is being pursued. |
